  9. This file contains important information about this release of OLAP Services Data Transformation Services (DTS) Task Kit 1. This task kit contains a DTS task that works with Microsoft SQL Server version 7.0 OLAP Services and related service packs.

  11. This task kit is supported on Intel and compatible operating systems. For more information, see the task kit documentation.

  14.               Installing OLAP Services DTS Task Kit 1

  17. You must install the following before you install the task kit:

  19. * SQL Server Enterprise Manager
  20. * OLAP Manager
  21.  
  22. These must be installed on the computer where you install the task kit.
  23.  
  24. To install the task kit, run DTSTasks.exe. A DTS task is added to DTS Designer in SQL Server Enterprise Manager.

  26. There is no removal utility for the DTS task. To unregister the DTS task, follow the instructions in "Unregistering and Registering the OLAP Services Processing Task" in the task kit documentation (msmda01b.chm).

  32. To access the OLAP Services Processing Task, start DTS Designer from SQL Server Enterprise Manager. The task appears on the Task tool palette.

  34. You can access the documentation by pressing F1 or clicking Help in an OLAP Services Processing Task dialog box. You can also open the documentation file, Msmda01b.chm, directly from Microsoft Windows NT Explorer. By default, Setup installs this file to C:\Program Files\OLAP Services\Help.

  48. You can now save DTS packages that use the OLAP Services Processing Task to Microsoft Repository.

  50. ActiveX Script Task Must Execute in Main Thread
  51.  
  52. When using the ActiveX Script task to access the properties of the OLAP Services Processing Task, the ActiveX Script Task must execute in the main thread. Right-click the ActiveX Script Task, click Workflow, Workflow Properties, and Options, and then select Execute on main package thread. For more information, see "Changing Properties of an OLAP Services Processing Task" in the task kit documentation (msmda01b.chm).

  54. SQLServerAgent Service Must Be Run Under an OLAP Administrator Account

In order for an OLAP Services Processing Task to run in a scheduled package, you must run the SQLServerAgent service under a user account with membership in the OLAP Administrators group in Windows NT. To change the service account, in Control Panel, start the Services application, and then select SQLServerAgent. Click Startup, select This Account, and then enter user information for an account with membership in the OLAP Administrators group.
